Character Blurb for September 8th - September 11th

Tuesday, September 8th

For the next month we will be working on the character trait Respect. Respect means to admire and have a high opinion of someone. For example, you should respect your teachers and your parents.

Turn to page 26 in your agenda book and set your goal for the week. It should be about showing respect.

The quote for the day comes form Benjamin Franklin. He said, “The best thing to give  your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance;  to a friend, your heart; to your child’; a good example; to a father, difference, to your mother conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect, and to all men charity.”

Wednesday, September 9th

Respect is a feeling of admiration or consideration for another person.

You can show respect by: Performing a kind act, Listen to the opinions of others, standing up the guy who is being bullied, and watching your language - don’t swear.

Study tip for the day: Do your homework in a quiet, private place.

The quote for the day comes form, Jackie Robinson. He said, “I am not concerned with  you liking or disliking me. . . All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.”

Thursday, September 10th

You should always be respectable. If someone is respectable, he or she behaves honestly and decently. If you behave this way, then others will respect you.

The quote for the day comes from Ralph Waldo Emerson. He said, “ Men are respectable on as they respect.”

Friday, September 11th

Look over the goal that you set for yourself on Monday. Ask yourself if you achieved your goal. If not, think of some ways that you can work harder toward achieving your goal.

The quote for the day comes from Clint Eastwood. He said, “Respect your efforts, respect yourself. Self-respect leads to self-discipline. When you have both firmly under your belt, that’s real power.”
